Land-Based Services

This is an entirely new programme which was designed to increase skills levels in the land-based sector of the economy.

Our Land Based Services programme will be made up of 10 courses with 43 qualifications annually.

I. Agriculture
This course will have 9 qualifications namely:

  1. Land-based Studies
  2. Travel Agriculture Environment and Animal Care
  3. Work-based Agriculture
  4. Land-based Operations
  5. Technical Award in Land Based Studies
  6. Work-based Agriculture
  7. Safe Working in Agriculture and Production Horticulture
  8. Technicals in Agriculture and Land-based Engineering
  9. Agriculture

II. Animal Management
This course will have 7 qualifications namely:

  1. Technicals in Animal Care Management and Equine Care Management
  2. Diploma in Dog Grooming
  3. Veterinary Care Assistants
  4. Livestock
  5. Restore Management
  6. Work-based Animal Care
  7. Animal Care

III. Certificate of Technical Competence
This will have 3 qualifications namely:

  1. Animal Care
  2. Health and Safety
  3. Horticultural Practice

IV. Entry Level
This course will have 1 qualification.

  1. Skills for Working Life

V. Environment,
Countryside and Conservation
This course will have 6 qualifications namely:

  1. Game and Wildlife Management
  2. Level 2 Award and Certificate in Sustainability and the Green Environment
  3. Environmental Conservation
  4. Principles of Live Quarry Shooting
  5. Technicals in Land and Wildlife Management
  6. Countryside and Environment

VI. Equine
This course will have 5 qualifications namely:

  1. Horse Cane
  2. Horse Cane and Management
  3. Saddlery
  4. Forgework
  5. Saddlery

VII. Floristry
This course will have 4 qualifications namely:

  1. Technicals in Floristry
  2. Work-Based Floristry
  3. Floristry
  4. Floristry

VIII. Forestry and Arboriculture
This course will have 2 qualifications namely:

  1. Trees and Timber
  2. Forestry and Arboriculture

IX. Horticulture
This course will have 4 qualifications namely:

  1. Practical Horticulture Skills
  2. Practicals in Horticulture and Forestry and Arboriculture
  3. Horticulture
  4. Work-based Horticulture

X. Land-based Engineering
This course will be a qualification, namely:

  1. Work-based Land-based Service Engineering
  2. Centre-based Land-based Service Engineering
